Note the test begins\u00a0with the phrase (Test On \u2026 ) which cites specific materials.Study those first then take the test ON THAT MATERIAL ONLY\u00a0(i.e. questions 1-14). Then note that the next part of the test\u00a0concerns subsequent materials: study those second,then test on those, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Where is the index of the material?<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">a.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> Your computer will display a view of the material that lists in text form\u00a0the name of every file. Each of those files, when\u00a0opened, is \u2018searchable\u2019 for any word, using your computer in its\u00a0\u2018find\u2019 mode (different methods for Windows or Mac operating\u00a0system). Many are in .pdf form and you\u2019ll need Adobe Acrobat or\u00a0some such .pdf file reader, available free online at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\" target=\"_blank\">adobe.com<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Is this material approved by the AZ Board of Behavioral Health\u00a0Examiners (AZBBHE)?<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">a.Beginning in December, 2011 the Board offered to assess the training learning objectives that you have completed. Contact the Board for details in your specific situation.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Who does approve of this material?<br \/>\na.<span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> My company, Psychotherapy &amp; Organizational Development, LLC\u00a0is approved by the American Psychological Association to\u00a0sponsor continuing education for psychologists. I receive many requests for such supervisors and the existing list is surprisingly short. Please tell me if you are offering\u00a0such services.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Why are so few qualified clinicians offering licensure-quality clinical\u00a0supervision?<br \/>\na.<span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> Informal conversations with them suggest that they are\u00a0apprehensive about getting engaged with AZBBHE if they go on\u00a0record as offering such supervision. (It has to be declared when\u00a0one reports one\u2019s continuing education activities every two years\u00a0to the Board.)<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>What are clinical supervisors doing that generates AZBBHE negative\u00a0action?<br \/>\na.<span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> Insufficient education and training in clinical supervision; failures to\u00a0document their sessions of supervision; dual relationships with\u00a0supervisees; mischaracterizing social or professional encounters\u00a0with supervisees (over lunch or at conferences) as supervision.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Will the completion of this home study and test be all I need to\u00a0become a clinical supervisor under State law?<br \/>\na.<span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> The law is very specific about the supervision you received and\u00a0the licensure status you maintain. It demands specific topics of\u00a0clinical supervision training in the first in a 12 hour segment, and\u00a0then six hours of unspecified clinical supervision training every two\u00a0years. Please review the law on your own, searching on topics of\u00a0your concern, at:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/azbbhe.us\/pdfs\/ADOPTED%20RULES.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.azbbhe.us\/ADOPTED%20RULES.pdf<\/a>.\u00a0Pay specific attention to AZ State Law section R4-6-212 J.1.(a-d) which details mandatory training topics.<br \/>\n<strong>b.<\/strong> A qualified clinical supervisor according to academic guideline\u00a0also has hours and hours of practice (with junior clinicians, or\u00a0peers), first being supervised and then supervising. This face-toface\u00a0repetition is crucial to your becoming a competent clinical\u00a0supervisor.<br \/>\n<strong>c.<\/strong> I urge any interested student of clinical supervision to meet\u00a0individually with senior clinicians, or to join (or form) a small\u00a0group, meeting twice a month and reviewing cases.
